Stefan Lindl, born in Munich in 1969, holds a doctorate and habilitation in history, art history and essay writing. Lindl is known for his wide range of interests and research focuses. His work spans several disciplines and combines elements of cultural history, philosophy, architecture, monument conservation,
climate research, environmental science and urban development.

For a decade, he researched the concept of authenticity. From this, he developed a theory of authenticity for the climate-friendly transformation of cities and a forward-looking , pragmatic approach to heritage conservation in the
climate crisis. He has his family to thank for a passion that he himself thought was impossible, Europa-Park Rust, which captivated him and has stayed with him ever since because it is a prime example of his theory of authenticity.

He has dealt with the park in many lectures and courses and analyzed it intensively from a humanities perspective. Stefan Lindl researches and teaches at the University of Augsburg. He has received several awards from the University of Augsburg and the Free State of Bavaria for his teaching of complex subjects. He lives near Baden-Baden in the Black Forest.
