"I want to be a good friend to my readers"

Aurelia Ignatio is of German-Italian origin. She studied psychology and art in Munich, Hamburg and Rome. Her work focuses on people - their wishes and desires, their relationships and their behavior in an increasingly digital world.

After years spent between studios, exhibitions and therapeutic practice, the author, who was born near Munich in 1987, retired a few years ago with her two Bernese mountain dogs to the small mountain village of Carona above Lake Lugano in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. The historic artists' village is known for its gardens, baroque churches and magnificent viewpoints

She now lives there, surrounded by light, silence and nature, painting and writing books about what remains when everything else changes: love, being human and the search for authenticity. She says: "Being in seclusion gives me the opportunity to experience and describe the world from a completely different perspective."
